3D Flowers

I purchased these SVG files from svgcuts.com and decided to give them a try.
The first one is a Dublin Mum and was pretty easy. I inked the edges
of the petals and the leaves and the center of the flower. I used pop-ups
between the 3 layers of petals to add a little dimension.

The next one is a Lollipop Mum and done pretty much the same way.
Because of the construction, this pretty much adds dimension to itself
but I used a couple of pop-ups on the bottom sections.

The last one is a simple Sunflower with pop-ups between the
two petal layers.

These were actually pretty easy and definitely fun to make.  I have more
that I'm going to have to try.

Two recent projects over the weekend

SVG 3D boxes seem to be all the rave right now in CDS.  I
downloaded the butterfly box, alphabet and a couple of
other ones over the weekend.  Decided to give them a try.
This was the first one and it came out pretty good. I went back and distressed
the edges of the leaves a bit to add dimension.
Then I decided to jump off into the alphabets.
My machine kept wanting to change the sizes
of each cut on me even after I had set and
checked them multiple times.  So I
ended up cutting some of these peaces SEVERAL times
before getting them right.

And I was glad I have a short last name. LOL.

I do see more 3D boxes in my future though!

Mother's Day card

Here's my first tri-fold card.  I cut the card base by hand on this one, but
I've since designed it in CDS and can use it many times now.

The paper is from a new 6x6 pad that I had just bought and I
thought the softened colors came out quite well.

I think she'll like it.
