She was amazed at magical imperfection

This one came together from bits and pieces and I rather like it.
The lower left bright flower and the bee at the top were cut
with Cricut. The middle flower is from K&Company.  And the
words are from Tim Holtz idea-ology Chitchat Verbiages along
with some of his decals.  There's stamping and model paste with
stencils.  Something about it I rather like.

Spring

It's in the air, well at least it is in this part of the country. And I hope
it gets to your area soon if it hasn't made it yet.

I started with a 4x8 tag cut out on my new Cricut Explore machine (I love this
newest machine they have).  I also cut out the butterflies in the lower left corner
and the doily at the upper right edge.

I used Tim Holtz's Distress Ink on the back ground, in Barn Door and Wild Honey.
The paper I used has as watercolor texture to it. Then I stamped the whole card
with a swirly background stamp in Ranger's Coffee.

I found some Lisa Pavelka watch gears, using 3 of those. There are stencils,
rub-ons, dictionary bits, letter decals, textured model paste.

The flower is from K&Company 'Paper Flowers' packet.

The words were printed on the Explore and I cut them out by hand. I saw
a video where someone used 'American Crafter's Slick Writer' pens in
the Explore instead of having to buy their pens for the machine. I gave them
a try and they worked great.....and I bought a set of 5 for the price
of one of Cricut's pens. 'yeah'

I made this one thinking that I will give this to my mother. I think she'll
like it.

Unique

This tag started out with a piece of 6x6 paper that had a element I liked
I tore the element off to save it then tore the rest of the paper
into small pieces and applied with MP....placing the element I liked
in the lower right hand corner....old fashion hats.

The measuring tape and 'Unique' button are all Tim Holtz.  There is
stenciling, stamping, rub-ons, Cricut cut outs, paper flower and antiquing
all going on on this one.

Two more tags for friends

I decided to try a couple of different shapes on these tags.  I cut them out (2 each) with
the Cricut.  This first one I found some old labels on line and this one appealed to me.  It's of
an old vanilla jar label.  I used gelatos on the background after gessoing then applied the
label in the middle.  The shape of the tag almost makes it look like a jar doesn't it?

Then I stamped, embossed used rub-ons and model paste plus some torn
dictionary bits. A paper flower, ribbon and a button finished it up.  There's some
brown ink rubbed on around the outer edge to make it look older and then I
added a back (the second tag) to finish it off before putting on the ribbon.

And there's the quote 'Walk with me and be my friend'.

This one is a different shape too.  I took a piece of 6x6 paper and tore it into smaller
pieces and applied with Mod Podge. Then used gelato pen in blue. There's dictionary
bits added and I used some wallboard tape to give me the shapes when
I used the model paste again.  The girls picture is one that I've had for a while.  I
found it on the internet and printed it off.  There's a couple of decals underneath
and a button clock and a different kind of paper flower. I cut out the key, heart and small
frame on the left side with the Cricut.  The girls gentle smile made me
think this was the right quote for this card.

Another Tag

Yep, I really like tags. It seems to be the right size of canvas for me.
I made this one for myself.  This tag and the last one were actually cut out
on the Cricut machine.  I gesso'ed and used gelato pens on the base then
covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper.  You could still see the gellatoes through
the tissue.

I covered in Mod Podge, used gellatoes again.  Added a clock in the lower
left corner, cut the butterfly on the flower and the lacey element under the
top left flower out on the Cricut.  I took Copics to the stem and flower to add
color, then used ink to edges to add age.  There's a couple of rub-ons, the flower and the '2' added.
I used the Holtz stamp set for the sentiment, but it out and tapped with ink to age.

In this one and the first one I used a brown marker around the edges of the
elements and smudged with my finger to add dimension.  Everything was topped with
Liquitex Matte Super Heavy Gel. And I applied a decorative sheet backing (to both tags) to
help cover the back.  Added a bit of orange ribbons to this one and brown to the first
one to top it off. Oh, and on this one I used some modeling paste to add the
tiny hearts.

Tags

I decided to try my hand at yet another new thing for me.  Whether you want to call the
Art Journal Tags or Steam Punk Tags or whatever, that's what I tried my hand at.

I have to say, this was actually pretty darn fun.
I want to take advantage of my Cricut machine to help cut out
elements that I want to include on these,  Seems everyone has their
preference on what they include on theirs and I want to use
my Cricut.  And as we all do, I watched lots of YouTube videos
to see what and how people were doing these.

They are in fact, quite similar to art journaling, just a smaller canvas if you will.

I picked up a few things from a Hobby Lobby run.....mainly Tim Holtz items....seriously, where
else...or rather who else are you going to turn to for Steam Punk.  But mostly what I picked
were some of his inks and stains. But a few other items too to add to what I already had of his.

Ok, so to the tag.

The background is some of the inks that I got. I mixed with a bit of water in some
mini spritz bottles....dried....coated with Mod Podge for protections. I cut the clock out of some paper that I had.  A 6x6 pack that had a page of clocks. The banners across the top and the
large gear to the left were cut with Cricut and the smaller gears are Tim Holtz.  The background
stamp is also from Tim along with the verse that I stamped, cutout and applied with the MP.
The hand lace at the bottom is some that I've had for a long time.  This seemed to be
the perfect place to make use for it.  I can't remember how I came by it, but it's hand crocheted.

This tag is for a friend of mine that recently lost her husband. I felt it required an
envelope.  I made this one up, but it seems to do the job well.

Two pages in two days...

I must have been on a roll this weekend.  I managed to do
two pages of journaling.

The first one I tried a few techniques that I haven't
tried before. Embossing and I used some torn
dictionary pages here and there.

Down on the middle bottom is the
quote 'never too late to find out who you want to be'
which is what inspired the page.

The second one is a nod to hot air balloon ride.  We did
one over the Grant Tetons a few years ago and it was
awesome.  But not just that, learn to fly, learn to soar
in whatever you choose.
