Someone posted the other day on the FB Cricut Design Space page
asking if something like this was possible.
I decided to give it a shot and see what I could come up with.
It ended up being pretty easy actually.
In DS insert a box (or any shape that you would like to use) and size
it how you would like it. Be sure to make it a larger size so that
you can work with it, you can always resize it later for the cut.
Add a text box with the word that you want on top, here I used
Happy, and select the font you want to use.
Position it to the top of the box or shape, remember,
it has to be touching the box. Then 'select all' and slice.
Remove the pieces of the letters that appear inside the box, in
this sample that would be the lower portions of the 'p' and 'y'.
Then select all again and weld. This should attach the word
to the box. Now enter another text box with the next word,
here that would be Birthday. Position that word inside the box, be
sure to to center it accordingly, and slice. Remove the letters
that would just sliced out of the box and voila!
Now you can resize that the whole thing to the size of
the card or whatever you want to place this on. In the
above sample I just placed it on a piece of white card
stock so you could see it. With this font I had to glue
in the inner parts of the B d and a, so be sure not
to lose those from your mat when removing the cut from the mat.
There you go. That was easy!
